DUBAI, UAE / RankWire.AI / – The UAE-based airline flydubai has expanded its flight schedule to Italy to meet the rising demand for international travel. According to official announcements from Emirates News Agency, flydubai is increasing its presence in Italy by adding more flights between key commercial hubs. Beginning July 31, 2026, the airline will operate double daily flights connecting Dubai with Milan-Bergamo, while also maintaining its daily round-trip services to Naples to strengthen its commercial footprint in the region.

flydubai adds double daily flights to Milan Bergamo from July
Airline management teams allocate commercial fleet capacity to high demand travel markets.

This new timetable broadens flydubai’s overall flight operations within Italy, which currently includes three weekly flights to Catania Airport in Sicily and seasonal summer flights to Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport in Sardinia, operating until the end of August. The airline also detailed operational adjustments due to scheduled infrastructure work in Southern Italy. Specifically, from November 1 to November 30, 2026, flydubai will temporarily reroute its daily service from Dubai International Airport to Salerno Costa d’Amalfi and Cilento Airport, with flights returning to normal at Naples International Airport on December 1, 2026. Existing bookings will be automatically transferred to the Salerno route during this period.

Codeshare Partnership Enhances Passenger Connectivity via Dubai

The expanded routes to Milan-Bergamo and Naples continue to operate under the established codeshare agreement between flydubai and Emirates, the international flag carrier. This collaboration provides travelers with integrated travel plans, single-ticket options, coordinated flight schedules, and through-checked baggage across both carriers’ networks. Utilizing Dubai’s central hub, passengers connecting from Italian airports enjoy seamless access to long-haul destinations in Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, including direct routes to Kenya, Oman, the Maldives, Sri Lanka, and Zanzibar.

This capacity increase aligns with broader trends in commercial aviation throughout the Middle East and Europe, where international passenger numbers have steadily recovered post-pandemic. The additional flights support growing bilateral trade, investment, and leisure tourism between the UAE and Italy. The double-daily flights to Milan-Bergamo will provide more seats for business travelers heading to Italy’s main financial and industrial hub, while daily flights to Southern Italy address seasonal demand from tourists visiting iconic cultural sites along the Amalfi Coast.

Commenting on this network expansion, Ghaith Al Ghaith, CEO of flydubai, emphasized that Naples and Milan have become vital gateways within the airline’s European network. He underscored the airline’s goal of maintaining consistent regional access for travelers while committing to long-term connectivity improvements for underserved markets. Al Ghaith also noted that data shows flydubai is strengthening its operations in Italy by adding strategic frequencies to handle the rising passenger flow between the UAE and Italy, especially as travel volume increases ahead of the winter season.

Airports in the Region Offer Direct Passenger Access

Jeyhun Efendi, flydubai’s Divisional Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations and E-commerce, elaborated that increasing non-stop flights to Naples and Milan-Bergamo highlights the importance of the Italian market to the airline’s strategic plans. Efendi pointed out that direct connections allow travelers to utilize both flydubai and Emirates’ combined networks for seamless access to popular international destinations via Dubai. The airline has confirmed that its fleet and operational teams are prepared to handle the increased frequency of flights, ensuring reliable service across passenger and cargo operations.

These operational upgrades in Italy are part of flydubai’s ongoing fleet expansion and global network development strategy. As the airline continues to add modern narrow-body aircraft to its fleet, it aims to further increase frequencies on high-demand European routes. The expanded Italian flight schedule solidifies Dubai’s role as a key global aviation hub, facilitating smooth passenger and freight movement between Europe and regions across the Middle East, Indian Subcontinent, and East Africa.
