MOSCOW, RUSSIA / RankWire.AI / – The Russian government announced that the country’s non-resource, non-energy exports reached over $96 billion from January through July 2026, marking an 8% increase compared to the same period last year. First Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov provided this update on the rise in Russian exports. This category omits Russia’s traditional raw materials and energy shipments. The seven-month total follows growth seen during the first half of 2026, with figures denominated in U.S. dollars.

Russia non-resource exports top $96 billion through July
Russia’s non-resource exports topped $96 billion through July 2026, rising 8% year on year.

Industry and Trade Minister Anton Alikhanov highlighted that small and midsize enterprises contributed $15.9 billion to the total export figure for the period, roughly 17% of Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports during the same timeframe. Currently, about 42,700 small and midsize firms participate in export activities. These SMEs also accounted for 1,042 of the 1,341 applications submitted for the 2026 Exporter of the Year awards, representing 76 Russian regions across all eight federal districts.

Data from the first half of 2026 reveal that Russia’s industrial non-resource, non-energy exports totaled $58.8 billion from January to June. This compares with $57.1 billion during the same period in 2025, indicating approximately 3% year-on-year growth within the industrial export sector. The Industry and Trade Ministry identified several manufacturing categories with higher foreign sales, providing further insight into the sectors driving Russia’s non-resource export performance in 2026.

Growth observed across key industrial sectors

Exports of chemical products rose by 5.3% during the first half of 2026 compared to the same period in 2025. Shipments of mineral and chemical fertilizers increased by 10.4% over the six months. Exports from metallurgy and precious metals grew by 5%, while light industry experienced a significant 25% rise. Pharmaceuticals, perfumes, and cosmetics also saw an 11% increase. These figures encompass industrial shipments classified under Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports. All growth rates are based on comparisons between January through June 2026 and the same months last year.

Russia’s non-resource, non-energy export target for 2026 is set at $155.25 billion, with industrial products accounting for $116.95 billion of this goal. In 2025, Russia recorded $163.7 billion in such exports, making the 2026 target approximately 5% lower than the previous year’s total. These goals are part of the country’s International Cooperation and Export national project, which includes industrial goods, agricultural products, and export-support infrastructure.

Russia’s long-term export targets remain ambitious

The International Cooperation and Export program also sets a 2030 goal for non-resource and non-energy merchandise exports at $248.1 billion in nominal terms, representing a 67% increase over the 2023 baseline used by the initiative. Industrial goods make up $192.9 billion of this target. The Russian Export Center is actively involved in supporting efforts, including digital services tailored for companies engaged in international trade.

The latest data indicate that Russia’s non-resource, non-energy exports from January through July have surpassed $96 billion, with SMEs contributing $15.9 billion. Industrial exports for the first half of 2026 reached $58.8 billion, demonstrating growth across sectors such as chemicals, fertilizers, metals, light industry, and pharmaceuticals. It is important to note that these 2026 figures are denominated in U.S. dollars rather than rubles. The full-year target for these exports remains at $155.25 billion, with separate benchmarks for industrial goods set at $116.95 billion.
